Project Background

Provo City has recognized the need to address current and projected transportation and community needs between the Provo City Municipal Airport and I-15. Provo City will prepare an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) to examine these issues, in cooperation with the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA).

The proposed study area extends for approximately three miles between the Provo City Municipal Airport and I-15. Currently, Provo’s Center Street provides the main connection between the airport and I-15. The EIS study will evaluate the need for a potential new roadway, develop and screen alternatives, and evaluate the environmental impacts. The EIS project team will coordinate with the public, agencies, and other stakeholders as part of the environmental process.
